Organisation and Arrangements

Organisation

The organisation is the ownership structure for Health and Safety (H&S). It has clearly defined responsibilities and roles from the corporate body, executive management, middle management, and supervisory positions, down to employee's individual roles and responsibilities for each separate site location.

A competent person(s) is required for each aspect of health and safety, whose numbers will vary dependent upon company size, ranging from one or two individuals up to numerous employees.

Arrangements

This is a collection of company documents including individual policies, procedures, work instructions, risk assessments, forms, training and equipment records that describe and provide evidence of the company's commitment, ability and system in complying with the respective Health and Safety Legislation that applies to its business activities.

Ideally all the documents should have an individual document reference number and issue level which indicates their currency level, and provide a useful audit trail for monitoring purposes.
