Handheld Tools

All hand tools supplied by the company to the employee or indeed any that are owned by an employee authorised to use same at the work place, must be suitable and sufficient for its intended use in relation to the task it is being used for. 

The completion of a risk assessment to ensure only intended use and that tools are in good working order is essential as well as entering them into a routine inspection / maintenance regime. 

Suitable and sufficient training in the use of the work equipment must be provided with adequate records being maintained.
