Statutory Inspections

Apart from the normal routine inspection / maintenance activity of work equipment often carried out in house, there is for some types of specialist equipment, a Statutory Inspection requirement which is often overlooked by employers. There could also be an insurance implication where insurers make the assumption that the inspection has been made by their policy holders, and is only brought to light in the event of a claim, where the policy may well be invalid as a result.

When an HSE inspector calls, they may well request evidence of Statutory Inspections of equipment on the premises. This ranges from lifting equipment, pressure systems, electrical / mechanical equipment to power presses.
